FreeCell
FreeCell is the solitaire variant where almost every deal is solvable — if you think far enough ahead. Unlike Klondike, all 52 cards are dealt face-up so you can see the entire puzzle from the start. The catch: you only have four free cells and four foundation piles to work with, so every move matters from the very first card.
How to Play
Sort all 52 cards into the four foundation piles in suit order, from Ace up to King. Use the free cells as temporary parking spots and move cards between the eight tableau columns to uncover the cards you need.
- Click or tap a card to select it, then click/tap its destination to move it.
- Free cells (top-left four slots) hold one card each — use them to temporarily move blockers.
- Foundations (top-right four slots) — build up from Ace to King in each suit.
- Tableau: cards stack in descending alternating-colour order (red on black, black on red).
- You can move sequences of cards at once if you have enough free cells and empty columns available.
Tips & Strategy
- Think before you park. Free cells are precious — once they're all full, you can only move one card at a time.
- Move Aces first. Getting low cards to the foundations early opens up a lot of manoeuvring room.
- Don't bury Kings. A King sitting in the middle of a tableau column can block the whole stack unless you have an empty column to receive it.
- Plan three moves ahead. If your next three moves don't have a clear path, reconsider the one you're about to make.
