Misunderstood Games is a general-audience, family-friendly browser games site. We keep things simple: we don't collect personal information, we don't track you, and we don't run analytics. We show ads through Google, but request only non-personalized ads. Your game high scores are saved only on your own device — never sent to us.

To remember your best scores, each game saves a small amount of data in your browser's local storage (a feature built into your browser). This information stays on your device — it is never transmitted to us or anyone else, and it is not used to identify or track you. You can erase it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
We display advertising through Google AdSense to help keep the games free. Because this site is intended for a general audience and we want a privacy-protective experience, we configure advertising conservatively:
Non-personalized ads may still use a limited cookie or identifier for purposes such as frequency capping (not showing the same ad too often), aggregated reporting, and fraud/abuse prevention. Google's handling of this data is described in “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.”
We do not set our own advertising or tracking cookies. The only device storage we rely on is the local high-score data described above, which is functional and stays on your device. Google may set limited cookies in connection with serving the non-personalized ads described above.
Misunderstood Games is not directed to children under 13, but we understand that families may share devices and that younger players may visit general-audience game sites. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and the site does not offer accounts, chats, uploads, public profiles, or other features designed to gather personal information. We aim to align with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including its protections for children, and with the principles of the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe a child has somehow provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
The site is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS Amplify). Like virtually all websites, the hosting infrastructure automatically processes basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) in server logs in order to deliver the site and protect it against abuse. This is necessary to operate the service and is not used to track or profile you.
Because we do not collect personal data, there is generally no personal information for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. If you are in the EU/UK, you still have rights under the GDPR; for any data processed by Google in connection with ads, you can review and control settings through Google's Ad Settings and Google's Privacy Policy.
