About Star Baron
Star Baron is a free, space-themed take on the classic property-trading board game. Roll the dice, fly your ship around a galaxy of 40 sectors, and snap up planets, moons, jump gates and reactors before your rivals do. Build colonies and starbases to crank up the docking fees, drain the other barons' credits, and be the last one standing.
How to Play
- Roll & move. Two dice send your ship clockwise around the board. Roll doubles and you go again — but three doubles in a row lands you in Quarantine.
- Claim sectors. Land on an unowned planet, gate or reactor and you can buy it. Pass on it and it stays open.
- Charge docking fees. When a rival lands on your property, they pay rent. Own a whole color sector and the rent doubles — even before you build.
- Build up. With a full sector you can add colonies (houses) and a starbase (hotel) to multiply the fees.
- Jump gates & reactors. The four gates pay more the more you own; reactor fees scale with your dice roll.
- Wormholes & cargo drops. Draw a card and ride your luck — windfalls, fines, or a one-way trip to Quarantine.
- Win. Bankrupt every rival. The last solvent baron rules the galaxy.
Tips & Strategy
- Sectors beat singles. A complete color sector with even building is where the real money is — prioritize finishing a group over scattering buys.
- Keep a cash cushion. Spend every credit and the next docking fee can bankrupt you. Leave a buffer.
- Three houses is the sweet spot. The jump from two to three colonies is the biggest rent increase per credit on most sectors.
- Mortgage to survive. Tap your manage menu to mortgage idle planets and raise emergency credits.
